World Fisheries Day is celebrated every year on November 21st to highlight the importance of healthy ocean ecosystems, to ensure sustainable stocks of fisheries in the world, and for recognizing the importance of fisheries, as a leading food-producing sector. Fisheries fraternity celebrates this day through workshops, public meetings, cultural dramas, exhibitions, etc. The day also explores moves towards finding solutions to the increasingly interconnected problems that the world is facing to follow the sustainable model.
